ATHLETICS:

The Athletic Department wants to update the community on the status of our football program. As of yesterday, the number of kids that we have out for the team this year is low enough for the need to consider an alternative route for success. 

We have decided to convert the program to 8-man football, which is a slightly different version of football that allows schools with less kids to field a team and have success. Many schools across the state have had to do this same thing and there is even a MHSAA 8-Man football tournament at the end of the year. 

Because of this decision being this late in August, we needed to cancel our current games and find 8-man games to fill our schedule. We will be doing everything we can to find at least 3-5 games for our kids this year, with home games including on homecoming. 

Going forward, we plan to find a 8-man football league that will give us full 9 game schedules every year. We will update the schedules on leelegends.org as we find games and will update families when we can.
